Liberty Leading the People is a classic and recognizable work that's stood the test of time. Painted in 1830 by French Romantic artist Eugène Delacroix, the work depicts a woman wearing a Phrygian cap leading a varied group of people over both a barricade and the bodies of the fallen. The work commemorates and depicts the July Revolution of 1830. Liberty is depicted as holding a tricolor flag, iconic within the context of this work as it did not become the standard French national flag until after the events depicted!
The artwork now sits in the Louvre- but do not fret. You can own this piece of monumental history yourself on a Bearbrick figure set! Standing just over 11" high for the 400% figure, and 2.75" high for the 100%, this collectible figure set is a suitably monumental medium to display the work of Eugène Delacroix- anywhere you want!
